CGiii Comment

With such a stunning cast, and Newell's follow-up to Four Weddings and a Funeral - how can you fail?

Terribly theatrical, very entertaining, awfully camp, wonderfully cynical...don't be duped - this is not a walk in the park.

The secrecies and deceit create a complex story - with harrowing conclusions.

Hats off to Newel for not jumping on the bandwagon of his previous success - it could have been so easy to regurgitate another rom-com...but, instead, a beautifully realised period piece of truth behind the fantasy.

An under-rated gem of a film.

The(ir) Blurb...

Set right after World War II, a naive teenage girl joins a shabby theatre troupe in Liverpool. During a winter production of Peter Pan, the play quickly turns into a dark metaphor for youth as she becomes drawn into a web of sexual politics and intrigue.
