Four women from Georgia conquered the international chess world from the 1960s onwards: Nona Gaprindashvili, the very first female world chess champion, who continued to defend her title for another 15 years until the 17-year-old Maia Chiburdanidze replaced her. Another two Georgians, Nana Alexandria and Nana Iosseliani, were constantly at the forefront of the competition. Their successes continue to inspire numerous Georgian girls, often named after their idols, to follow in their footsteps. This documentary is a fitting memorial to the four women and the revolution they sparked on the male-dominated chessboard.
