CGiii Comment

Mr Gaylord is fast becoming a filmmaker of some note.

He wrote the exceptional Leave it on the Floor...

I Do is not without its faults...it's the writing...which, in too many places, is weak and rather paltry...the argument about immigration is particularly threadbare and wildly simplistic, the overnight maturity of the little girl is too ridiculously cute to be palatable.

Some of the performances could have been a little stronger but, and it is duly noted, that constraints of budget don't allow take after take after take...

The strengths of the film lie squarely with the director - the delicacy employed in some scenes...are, truly moving. The choice and use of music - for a low-budget indie - is impressive.

With a few tucks and tweaks this could have been a mighty film - that said...it is a sweet film that oozes tenderness (and talent).

Definitely...worth watching.
