CGiii Comment

It's not billed as a comedy...yet, it plays out like one.

Bless their cotton socks, Matt Gambell & Linda Dunscombe [obviously] hadn't a clue what they were doing...this is [for both] their second feature...and, quite possibly, their last.

Made on what must have been a meagre budget, the production team deserves to be applauded for getting it made in the first place...but, when the writer is also the producer...oh dear...inexperience is the downfall for many a project.

With 3 executive producers on-board, surely one of them - after seeing the rushes - ought to have suggested a [major] re-think, re-write...obviously not.

The acting is sub-soap-standard which automatically applies to the direction...if you can't direct a fight sequence...either, don't include one or get someone in who can!

As for the story...think along the lines of...if [bisexual] Ronnie Kray had gone solo in the cyber-age...yes, he has those exact same proclivities for the boys...with a twist!

Unfortunately, the many twists and turns are more laughable than surprising. Seriously, if there had been a major re-think/re-write, this could have been a blisteringly good tongue-in-cheek comedy!

The(ir) Blurb...

King of Crime is about Marcus King, an old school gangster, a crime lord, who has left behind old school crime. He has manoeuvred his business into the leafy lanes of the suburbs and now, in place of pimps and dealers, his team consists of the best graduate geeks that money can bribe. No brothels, no casinos and no drugs - he's dragged serious, organised crime well and truly into the twenty-first century. From credit card cloning and skimming to Internet spamming and scamming, he is the king of Cyber Land.
