CGiii Comment
Erm...it's not exactly thrilling for a thriller.
As if...a hostage situation would really be broadcasted live...so, suspend that disbelief!
Big names don't necessarily make a good film...this has the names...but, it also has the production values of a TV movie...and, for a TV movie, it's not that bad.
For a supposed Hollywood blockbuster...it's bad.
George Clooney goes from buffoon to hero, Julia Roberts talks and the rest of the cast over-act...most notably, Jack O'Connell...not quite the vehicle for super-stardom as he may have thought...still, exposure is everything - especially when it is linked with Clooney's name.
The obvious 3-act structure can be summarised as good, mediocre and [downright] bad...suspending that disbelief becomes a more and more difficult chore.
As for LGBT content...nada...apart from Jodie that is...her direction, well let's just say...there's plenty of room for improvement.
Unexceptional.
