CGiii Comment

Lovers FF is proud to present the “cinematic” version of the comedy series created and directed by Marcello Cesena. Set in a totally fictional 1794 Paris—complete with smartphones, social media, and even Dua Lipa—the story follows Jean-Claude (Marcello Cesena), a young gay baronet locked in eternal conflict with “Mother” (Simona Garbarino), the meanest mother ever seen on TV. And as in any courtly tale, the ever-present air of intrigue hovers amid wigs, crinolines, and irresistible comic running gags. Originally launched in 2005 within Gialappa’s Band’s “Mai Dire…”, the show is currently a highlight of “Gialappashow” on TV8 and Sky Uno. Now a cult phenomenon, this unique format anticipated queer themes and early conversations around gender fluidity.
