CGiii Comment

In 2013, The Nest Collective began collecting the stories of LGBTIQ identified individuals in Kenya. What has resulted is a film, made up of five vignettes, which paints a picture of queer lives the likes of which has not yet been seen on the screen. The most important and compelling LGBTIQ film to be made in years, Stories of Our Lives explores multiple facets of queer experience in Kenya in a nuanced, candid, and confronting way. Compiled from hundreds of stories, the film is a stunning yet simple statement, presenting a Kenya of sadness and struggle, but also one of hope.

The film is exquisitely shot and scored by the Nest Collective, and will immerse you in its harsh environment from start to finish. Described by Diriye Osman at Huffington Post as 'one of the most triumphant and stunning films of the year', this film allows us to hear voices we would not otherwise have heard, stories that would never have had the chance to be told.
