CGiii Comment

Think Slumdog Millionaire meets City of God...with an elongated James-Bond-ish urban chase.

The story does stretch credibility to breaking point...but, the frantic pace forcefully pushes those grievances aside. The editing - alone - is a triumphant masterclass.

Central to the story is the relationship between the boys...they are stubborn, cheeky, vulnerable and adorable. Daldry provides a masterclass in how to direct [non]actors.

It certainly takes a swipe at multi-level corruption...Brazil is not shown in its best light...but, the lighting is yet another masterclass.

The production design, the sets, the pyrotechnics, the music...it all comes together perfectly...a meticulously choreographed rollercoaster ride.

Enjoy.
