Two Three Times Branco

In the spring of 1981, the critic Serge Daney sees in Lisbon not a center, but a pole that for a certain period attracts the most interesting cinema that is made in Europe: Manoel de Oliveira, Raúl Ruiz, Wim Wenders, Robert Kramer, Alain Tanner, João Cesar Monteiro… At the heart of this Portuguese pole a young producer: Paulo Branco. Thirty-five years later, Paulo Branco has produced almost 300 films, has recovered from several failures, always between Paris and Lisbon... Thirty-five years later, a young director heads out to an encounter with the person, but firstly he must confront with the legend.

Nella primavera del 1981, il critico Serge Daney vede in Lisbona non un centro, ma un polo che per un certo periodo attrae il cinema più interessante che si fa in Europa: Manoel de Oliveira, Raúl Ruiz, Wim Wenders, Robert Kramer, Alain Tanner, João Cesar Monteiro… Al cuore di questo polo portoghese un giovane produttore: Paulo Branco. Trentacinque anni più tardi, Paulo Branco ha prodotto quasi 300 film, si è risollevato da diversi fallimenti, sempre a cavallo tra Parigi e Lisbona… Trentacinque anni più tardi, un giovane regista parte alla volta di un incontro con la persona, ma deve confrontarsi prima di tutto con la leggenda.
