54: The Director's Cut...

Well, it's true what they say: you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear...no matter how hard you try.

The original review stands...even with the additional - more gay - footage, this remains a damp squib...

The original review...

What went wrong? A case of conceit multiplied by infinity.

The film, albeit watchable, totally misses the essence of the time, failing to capture the period entirely.

This should have been a camp extravaganza instead of a depressed turkey.

The music is quiet, the party suppressed - a competent film told from the wrong perspective.

Mark Christopher's short films are far more interesting than this limp affair.

HUGELY disappointing.

As impressive as a damp firework.
