Frankenstein

Country: USA, Language: English, 71 mins

  • Director: James Whale
  • Writer: Mary Shelley; Peggy Webling
  • Producer: E.M. Asher; Carl Laemmle Jr.

CGiii Comment

At only 70 minutes long, this absolute masterpiece achieves more than all the computer generated FX money can buy.

Whale runs amok with the satire while telling a damn fine story amid atmosphere and glorious sets.

Few movies achieve iconic status - this was one of the first - just take a look a Karloff's Monster - one of the most recognizable faces of all time.

Simply: iconic.
