The opening line: Driver, step on it!

As if!!! In New York!!!

The writing gets steadily worse...this auteur is not a natural writer of dialogue! But...he certainly knows how to - relentlessly - dish out the clichés.

There's no denying that there is a good/interesting idea lurking somewhere beneath the small-talk and frivolity...

'Identity' is the hot topic at the moment...whether it be gender, racial, cultural, sexual or national...alas, Front Cover merely skims the surface and goes no deeper than a mole trying to dig through concrete! Which is a shame!

A couple of scenes needed a radical re-working...the photo-shoot, that was done with the subtlety of a sledgehammer in the face...and, the ill-conceived press conference. Tight budgets can be punishing!

Despite the clichés, it's a watchable film...it just needed heavy dollops of refinement and a pot-holers need for depth.
