It starts off like a train wreck and, very slowly, it starts to rebuild itself - only to descend into an ugly and hateful mess.

There is a self-loathing here that is particularly unpleasant - is the director homophobic, ashamed???

Or, did this autobiographical bullshit just backfire?

A thoroughly horrible film.
