CGiii Comment

It's been called a gem in Australian gay film history and definitely one of the first to deal with homosexuality...those who have called it a gem couldn't tell the difference between Woolworth's top-of-the-range glass ring and a diamond cluster by Cartier...

Did no-one notice the acting??? Ooops, neither did the director.

Brittain's script (presumably a nepotistic appointment) is moronic.

This is simple exploitation (even though it fails to deliver) - of actors willing to take off their clothes and of an audience willing to pay to see the aforementioned actors take off their clothes.

Unfortunately, it is not even titillating, a totally flaccid affair.

Frankly, it's only appeal now is as a curiosity. And, a painful one at that!

Thankfully, the Brittains never continued their film-making careers - this travesty certainly sealed their fate.

The(ir) Blurb...

Depicting life amongst the arty 'set' in Sydney in 1969, it was one of the first Australian feature films to include homosexuality as a main theme.
