CGiii Comment

When Mendes puts his name to a film...expectations run high.

This, however, fails to fulfill those expectations. Some will call it quirky, some will marvel at the mawkish behaviour...others will just be irritated at the man-boy who has a heart of gold.

There are some moments that salvage this from the depths of banality...few and far between. However, it's too cute to be palatable and too heavy handed to be believable.
