Ferien vom Leben

Lilo is a resolute woman, creative in her mind and images, until a devastating diagnosis tears her from everyday life and forces her to face unpleasant truths. Without further ado, she makes her escape with the help of the illegal truck driver Sami and unintentionally sets the whole family in motion. Her daughter Carolin can not use all the stress. Her marriage to Andreas lacks every spark of love and passion, her son Vincent barely talks to her and in her job as a taxi driver she finds no fulfillment. But Carolin is intelligent, attractive and quick-witted. Secretly, she longs for the affection of her mother and realizes that in the past and her relationship with Lilo is also the key to their own happiness. But until both women have found each other and their inner peace with each other, some obstacles on the way to the Old Land must be overcome.

Caro (Marie Bäumer) ist unglücklich. Ihr Mann Andreas (Robert Schupp) hat nur seine Arbeit im Kopf. Leidenschaft und Liebe gibt es in der Beziehung schon lange nicht mehr. Auch ihr eigener Job als Taxifahrerin füllt sie nicht mehr aus. Und Sohn Vincent (Emilio Moutaoukkil) spricht seit Monaten nicht mit ihr und verbringt seine Tage lieber mit Freund Darek (Daniel Axt) im Fitnessstudio. Als ihre Mutter Lilo (Hannelore Elsner) in ihrem Atelier plötzlich zusammenbricht, hat Caro eine Sorge mehr. Vorsichtig versucht Caro ihrer Mutter gegenüber anzudeuten, dass eine Altersresidenz vielleicht das passende neue Zuhause wäre, doch die will davon nichts wissen… und nimmt stattdessen Reißaus. Kurzerhand springt sie in den LKW von Sami (Navid Navid) und hat ein klares Ziel: Sie will noch einmal an einen Ort, an dem sie einst ein düsteres Geheimnis begraben hat. Doch Tochter Caro und Enkel Vincent nehmen die Verfolgung auf und so beginnt eine abenteuerliche Reise…
