It's difficult not to compare this with the wonderful Farewell My Concubine...
It's practically the same film - only, an inferior duplicate.
To Western ears, one Chinese opera sounds exactly the same as any other Chinese opera - watch Farewell and marvel...don't bother with this plodding, overly-camp effort.
