This won the Iris Prize Best Feature Award and a whole host of other statuettes from some reputable LGBT film festivals.

Hello...HELLO...is there anyone in there???

Did you watch the same film as us?!?

When you look at the other films it was up against - a disenchanting, dismal disgrace to say the least...HELLO?!?

It's not the worst film ever made...but, the first 60 minutes are a mind-numbing exercise in condescension. Followed by Hallmark-inspired homo-babble.

A gay 24 year old comes out to his straight friends...what follows is a tortuous diatribe on how [straight] men can/will/should cope with such a bamboozling situation. Eeew...it's more than enough to make you want to heave into the nearest dumpster.

Forget originality...the fat one is vile, the dim one is dim and the other one thinks he's a stud...and, obviously, the gay one will want him flat on his back with his legs splayed in the air at the drop of a tissue.

There's the adoring (soon-to-be-homophobic) neighbour - horrendously performed and written. There are the over-used, highly unoriginal, totally exhausted scenes with a multitude of jump cuts and some unsavoury, stereotypical internet dates.

Although the direction is text-book pedestrian...it's the writing that really floors this turkey. Now, we know absolutely nothing about Aaron Dancik's sexuality...which is - in itself - a remarkable co-incidence...because, Aaron Dancik knows nothing about homosexuality. If he is one...bless. If he's not one...he should write about something he knows an iota about.

On a brighter note...the soundtrack is pretty damn good.
