IT BURNS is a short poetic horror that begins in an eerie autopsy room, where MAIK's lifeless body lies on a stainless steel table. IRÈNE is haunted not only by her wife's death but also by her own grief, personified by a menacing and ghostly version of Maik. As the boundaries between the living and the dead blur, Irène's denial imposes a terrifying situation forcing her to face her grief. Her emotional entrapment is symbolised within the decaying walls of her abandoned room. 'It Burns' explores themes of loss, denial, and acceptance while immersing the audience in a story where the horror lies not only in the supernatural but in the depths of Irène's denial.
