If you know Steven even a little, you notice that he visibly becomes uncomfortable every time his coach makes contact with him during the fencing lesson. When the coach asks him to stay after training for a one-on-one session to work on his technique, Steven's friend Thijmen also notices that something changes in him. Steven doesn’t want to talk about it. Once again, Thijmen can't get through to Steven. For Thijmen, that’s the final straw. He breaks up with Steven and leaves him alone in the empty locker room. For the first time, it becomes clear what has been going on between Steven and his coach. How Steven was sexual abused by his coach and how he was unable to defend himself against it. Then, and even now.
