This is good...very good.
And...good things come to those who practice...with many a short film under his belt, Mr Boreham has served his apprenticeship.
This is a coming-of-age...not only for the central character but for the filmmaker. Mr Boreham has delivered a work of might and maturity...with undercurrents of malevolence and moments of momentous emotion.
Talent oozes out of every nook and cranny...Miles Szanto delivers a mesmerising performance. Daniel Webber, as his sidekick, knocks it out of the park...and, Anni Finsterer - as the unbreakable mother - steals every scene.
Credit and kudos must go to the sound design...at times sensual, always atmospheric and frequently mind-blowing.
But...this is Mr Boreham's film...his direction is composed, his writing is a masterwork in restraint...not a word is wasted, there are no throwaway sentences...and one small sentence can [and does] change everything.
Mr Boreham's film will make you cry like there is no tomorrow.
Quite simply, wow!

In the final moments of his 17th year, Miklós Varga’s world has come crumbling down. His plans to run away and escape the hold of his migrant family have been brutally undone by the accidental death of his older brother, Tomi. Only Mik knows the events that led to this tragedy and as far as he can see there is only one person to blame. Himself.
