The(ir) Blurb...

This is the NFL's official video tribute to the life and death of Washington Redskin's fabled Tight End Jerry Smith who passed away from complications due to HIV/AIDS in 1986. He was the first professional football player to come out and publicly disclose his HIV status before his death in hopes that it might help somebody to understand. It was revealed after his death that Smith had been romantically involved with Redskins teammate David Kopay.
