Aaargh!!! Christmas!
What's not to love about Christmas!?! Well, the LGBT-themed Christmas movie for one. Over the last few years production companies have been cashing in on the pink dollar/pound/euro...with pitiful success and even worse scripts!
This is an exception - phew. But, not entirely...it's still a sickly sweet, sugar-coated parade of cliché followed by cliché - what sets this film apart and a few rungs above its peers is...the cast.
The ever-watchable Michael Urie commits to his role and exudes his boyish, rather scatty charm all over the place...keeping everything family-friendly and cheek-tweakingly cute.
Jennifer Coolidge is just a little too conservative and too under-used...which is a pity. But, hey, it's Christmas...it's all about toeing the line rather than crossing it. Oooh...it would have been an entirely different film if they had crossed the line!
C'mon Christmas LGBT-theme film-makers...take a risk, cross the line!
