Two Sisters Who Are Not Sisters
Original Title
Deux Soeurs- Director: Beatrice Gibson
- Producer: Denna Cartamkhoob, Tim Nash
CGiii Comment
Six characters – two sisters who aren’t sisters, two laundresses, a beauty queen and a poodle meet on a street corner in Paris. Based on a script by Gertrude Stein, written in the fascist Europe of 1929, the movie investigates motherhood and, by extension, futurity. Featuring renowned American poet Alice Notley, educator Diocouda Diaoune, filmmakers Basma Alsharif and Ana Vaz and artist Adam Christensen in a spiral of broken images that resemble a thriller without really being a thriller and seem fragmented in the imponderable logics of dreams.
