The heartland of America is - indeed - broken.
At the centre - yet again - is the institution that declares love and spouts hate...the church.
A young man killed himself...because of that hate.
In the aftermath of his death, his parents...conservative, god-fearing Republicans start to question and shed the labels that defined them...tragically, it took the death of their son to do so.
A brave film. A necessary film...clearly showing that there is still much work to do...in what has become a fight against hate.
It's so very sad.
