Rising ocean levels have left most of the world uninhabitable. Tropical storms, corrosion, and waves threaten a lonely apartment building barely protruding from the ocean. Everyone has fled a long time ago. Everyone apart from the disillusioned, freedom-seeker John and his concerned boyfriend Benjamin. John tries to ignore the unsettling sound from the foundation of the building, the cold seawater in their apartment, and most of all his boyfriend's growing resentment. He'd much rather tend to his vegetable garden or relax on the rooftop. One day Benjamin finds a radio and they start getting news about the surprisingly positive development in the refugee camps in the mountains. As Benjamin's frustration turns to hope, John's utopian dream of creating a self-sustained world starts falling apart. Fearing that he might lose his boyfriend, John embarks on a destructive mission to force them to stay together.
