CGiii Comment

One thing is certain...Rupert Murdoch and his [parasitical] sons will not be pleased. Good!

As for Fox News...the American [television] equivalent of the British Daily Mail...their viewers and their readers tell you everything you need to know about them. Avoid like the plague!

So...the big question is: Why would you want to work for such organisations? Only those who do work for them can - truthfully - answer that question.

But...hold on, there's a lesbian character who is profoundly opposed to everything that Fox News stands for. Yet, she keeps her head down, does her job and, in return, expects no promotion. What a way to live your life! But hey, a job's a job...even if it does do a merry dance all over your scruples.

Female recruitment into the upper echelons of Fox went via the lecherous Roger Ailes [savagely played by John Lithgow]...because Fox is a 'visual medium' Ailes insisted his ladies show their legs, a bit of cleavage, do a twirl...and, anything extra, requested to secure their promotion.

So why did it take so long to stop Ailes? The same can be asked of Weinstein...but, unlike him, Ailes did not face trial. He was [exorbitantly] paid off and the claimants reached some kind of [financial] settlement...courtesy of the Murdochs. But, seriously, why does it take so long to bring these kind of contemptible men to face their deserved justice? This film does not answer that question...nor does it go very far below the surface...which is a shame...because, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie [together] are more than capable of blowing the lid off of the powder keg.

Enough with the-grin-and-bear-it defence - we want to know what lights the fuse. In Bombshell, Grechyn Carlson gets fired...that starts the ball rolling. If she hadn't...then what? These are women with big voices and bigger bank balances...can you emotionally connect with these portrayals? No...there were a few uncomfortable moments...but, nothing harrowing.

Bombshell tells it as it was...with no revelations. It should have been dynamite!

Let's take a moment to think about the women with quieter voices and smaller bank balances who have to endure sexual harassment and abuse on a daily basis...their voices matter too!
