CGiii Comment

The difficulty of putting the stage on the screen...is all too evident in this wordy psycho-drama - as are the differences between stage & screen direction.

Binamé should have watched a few Hitchcock films before he started on this project. The film needed suspense rather than a few side-line stories that hindered rather than helped.

Xavier Dolan carries the film from start to finish...are there no ends to this man's talents?!?

When he's on-screen, the film comes to life...it's a fascinating charaterisation. The twists and turns all verge on the predictable...but, you can't take your eyes off Mr Dolan.

The only question to ask yourself after the film ends is: is Dolan a better actor than he is a director? At this point in his impressive career, a difficult question to answer.
