Overwrought, stylised and brutal.

Let down by some grim direction and stilted acting.

The power that it has...shatters and upholds stereotypes - which is rather clever.

It could have been stunning - but, displays all the cowardice when adapting a disturbing novel.

Powerful stuff nonetheless.
