A blistering 669 episodes...

For some unknown reason - this badly acted, appallingly written soap - became something of a cult - possibly because it was shown late at night when everyone was completely plastered...it doesn't matter if the prison walls wobble when touched!

And, refreshingly...not a whiff of political correctness.

Wentworth is a high-security female prison. The women are there for all sorts of crimes. We get to follow how they got there, their life in the prison and what becomes of them afterwards. We also get to follow the staff, their work in the prison and their personal relationships.
