CGiii Comment

An interview with Z-movie director Vince D’Amato (director of Carmilla, the Lesbian Vampire aka Vampires vs Zombies) serves as an opportunity for a nostalgic reflection on video stores, on how the landscape of the home video world has changed, and on the importance it had in shaping the imagery of the underground scene.

For Louise Weard, it is also a dive into the past at one of the key moments in her career: her attendance at Vancouver’s Splatterfest and her meeting with director and special effects specialist Ryan Nicholson. Chasing Rewind is therefore an important piece for understanding Weard’s work, but regardless of that, it is also a small act of love for a world that no longer exists, and which those born before the 2000s still dream never truly ended.

There was a trailer...but, it has since disappeared.
