Dear Vatican...

This is how your 'religion' [should read: Business] and your practitioners are being depicted...in 2018...by a stalwart Catholic country.

Get your house in order...now and forever!

Dear Poland...

If you cannot separate the church from the state...then, you are screwed...by corrupt politicians and priests. That's called a double whammy!

Dear European 'Union'...

This is [exactly] why Europe is screwed. Members states have [practically] nothing in common. One unavoidable reality of a such hot-potch union is the duplication of the USA's of bible-bashing-belt, along with that hate-fuelled rhetoric that they tirelessly spew...

The sad fact is...this is how most of the eastern European countries are now being regarded [by the rest]. Their brand of church-&-state-sanctioned homophobia is the broken cog in the wheel of federalism [along with quite a few other broken cogs]. But...hey, there's always the political principle of subsidiarity to fall back on...a principle that has its origins in Catholic teaching!

Priest asks a pregnant woman, he being her 'Father' and the baby's father: Why didn't you have an abortion?

My faith didn't allow me...

Jaw hits the floor. And, just ask you pick it up...it will hit the floor...again and again. This is a relentless attack on these ungodliest of men...

Lord Acton said: Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Wojciech Smarzowski has something to say...and, he says it without reserve. Obviously, unhappy about his country and its relationship with the church...he bares his teeth and lets rip. This is savage.

Now, he's not saying that all priests are bad...but, in this film, it would seem that...the 'good' priests are merely the choir, dominated by the choirmaster and the soloists. They are being manipulated into making sweet, sweet music...but, what happens when they realise and/or resist the manipulation, when they hit bum-notes and fall by the wayside? Clergy gives an answer...and, your jaw will [again] slam to the ground...mightier than before!

This is a shocking film...and, by its end, profoundly chilling.

Astonishing [and brave] filmmaking.
