Tissues at the ready!

Tough guys, trans ladies and atonement...this is not just an emotional rollercoaster ride, it's an evolutionary one too. Hearts and minds, attitudes and opinions can all change with the passing of time, regrets and grief rarely do. But...for these brothers, the time has come to make amends...for their lost sister.

Hard tears and difficult truths flow as they fight to right the wrongs of the past. Their fight is primarily with themselves, their consciences...but, also with bureaucracy and all that goes with it. The road blocks they encountered in previous searches seem to disappear, it would be interesting to know how the making of this film influenced the various departments into transparency rather than their usual reluctance. Indeed, times have changed.

Ballroom has changed, it has evolved from a rather impoverished subculture into what it is now, a global phenomenon. In this year, 2025, Venus Xtravaganza would have turned 60, she was murdered aged 23...it doesn't take a wild imagination to guess, if she had lived, where she would be now...sitting on a throne of her own making.

A respectful film where dead names remain unseen and unheard...but, does it give closure? No, not entirely...but, it certainly paves the way to a better place for the brothers, for the Ballroom, for all of us...and, for Venus Pellagatti Xtravaganza, in her final resting place. A wrong has been righted.
