In 1832, a Canadian Infantryman was hanged for making love with another man. The victim’s rank was Private, and his name was Flowers. Created as part of Awakening with Toronto History Museum, Private Flowers is part of a series of art projects by BIPOC creators, operating under the principles of anti-oppression, anti-colonialism and anti-racism and is part of the city’s efforts to address anti-Black racism.


En 1832, un fantassin canadien à été pendu pour avoir fait l’amour avec un autre homme. Le grade de la victime était soldat, son nom était Flowers. Créé dans le cadre de l’Awakening en collaboration avec le musée d’Histoire de Toronto, Private Flowers fait partie d’une série de projets artistiques par des créateur·trices de couleur, basée sur les principes anti-oppression, anti-colonisation et anti-racisme et s’inscrit dans les efforts de la ville pour lutter contre le racisme envers les personnes noires.
