Mirinda, a 45-year-old French transsexual , lives in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) as a prostitute. One day she finds four young girls locked in her flat. Her boyfriend Viri has disappeared. She keeps one of the girls, “no name”, to question her, although it proves unsuccessful. She then finds that Viri is dead and takes refuge in Battambang with the girl, at Maley’s, an old client and friend. Malay’s self-loathing increases when Mirinda makes reference to his father’s past as a persecutor. To help him out, Mirinda calls on Judith, a friend investigator at the Khmers Rouges Special Court. When Judith tries to use “no name” to reach a witness, Mirinda protects the child, embracing some sort of motherhood.
