The One Who Loses First Wins It All
After being kicked out of his strict Mormon home, 17-year-old AJ, a naive but desperate runaway, finds himself lost in the unforgiving streets of Atlanta. He is quickly taken in by Baby Girl, an 18-year-old Black trans sex worker whose sharp wit and street smarts have kept her alive since she was 15. Baby Girl offers AJ a place to crash in an abandoned squat house, introducing him to a world where survival means hustling-stealing, selling drugs, and knowing how to navigate the streets.
As AJ struggles to adapt, Baby Girl teaches him the ropes, guiding him through a life that is both dangerous and intoxicating. Under the watchful eye of Daddy, her volatile yet powerful pimp, AJ gets drawn deeper into the underbelly of the city. The two form an intense bond-part friendship, part mentorship, part something neither of them fully understands. But when their friend Pedro is rumored to have gotten the kitty (contracted HIV) and is now off the streets with government assistance, Baby Girl and AJ are forced to confront a brutal reality.
For those with nothing, even the most dangerous choices can start to look like salvation. As their nights blur into neon-lit highs and whispered confessions, one reckless decision threatens to change everything-forcing them to face how far they are willing to go to escape a life that never wanted them in the first place.
