CGiii Comment

Javier Bardem has got to be one of the finest actors around - he certainly delivers in this film.

This is not the usual Spanish fayre, there are no quirky, eccentric characters a la Almodovar.

Instead, an intense character study – it does do the selfish bisexual thing but it is the raw emotion that carries this through to its conclusion.

The maturity and intelligence of the characters is matched only by the direction.

Fine work.
