The(ir) Blurb...

Pre-dating modern male pornography, the Athletic Model Guild, guided by Bob Mizer from the years 1956 to 1969, produced thousands of nudie flicks that were for the most part the only sexually suggestive images available for gay men of that period. The films were not the feature-length hard-core fuck-n-suck videos of today, but almost-chaste displays of male beauty based around scenes of models posing, wrestling, and enactments of playful fantasies and male iconography (cops, Roman gladiators, prisoners, friendly roommates, bikers, body building). Featuring men either scantily clad in posing straps or, in later films, flaccidly naked, these videos take the viewer nostalgically back to a more discreet time in male erotica.
