Scum Manifesto

Country: France, Language: French, 26 mins

  • Director: Carole Roussopoulos; Delphine Seyrig
  • Writer: Valerie Solanas

CGiii Comment

Play staged excerpts of SCUM Manifesto Valerie Solanas, published in 1967 and then sold out in French. Delphine Seyrig translates some passages to Carole Roussopoulos who typed them in the machine. In the background, a television broadcasts live images of the television news whose apocalyptic news is sometimes heard. Like the book, the film is a pamphlet against society dominated by the 'male' image and the 'virile' action.
