Season 2...

Where do you go after that climax of season 1? Onwards and upwards, that's where!

Revenge is a dish best served...with all the production values [and more] of season 1. There is one scene when - quite literally - everything stops. It's breathtaking!

The whole series is breathtaking...it's so quintessentially English...but, it doesn't feel it. There's even a hint of backwood Deliverance lurking around.

Still deadpan, still mad, still brilliant...the only problem is, if there is a season 3, where will they go? Poor Todd...he deserves his comeuppance!

A deliciously dark, definitely divisive, deviously delicate dramedy...where nothing is played for laughs...but, guilty laughs come aplenty.

The script is howlingly good...and, in the right mouths [courtesy of Jessica Barden & Alex Lawther], it comes alive with all the teenage angst and silliness, the irresponsibility and the idealism that [all] teenagers must endure...okay, admittedly, a few extremes have been taken. But...at no point can you not believe this could happen!!! These kids are so like kids...you don't want to have!!!

Name it, it's all in here...serial killer, paedophile, drug-dealing dad...and, a couple of lesbian policewomen who have a one-off, bit of a bedroom history...where the 'love' is unrequited! They play it straight...and, it's bloody funny.

But what makes The End of the F***ing World so special? Production values, cinematography, colour correction and direction. It does not look like a [cheap-ish] TV series. It looks like a feature film...and, it could have easily been a feature with a little bit of pruning!

Final praise must go to Alex Lawther...with his deadpan 'okays' - he really did get what James was all about...and then, there's his smile!

Seriously...un-missable!

The(ir) Blurb...

James is a 17-year-old who believes he is a psychopath. He kills animals as a hobby, but grows bored of the practice. He decides he wants to try killing a human. He settles on Alyssa, a mouthy, rebellious 17-year-old classmate with issues of her own. She proposes they run away together, hoping for an adventure away from her turbulent home-life, and James agrees with the intention of finding an opportunity to kill her.
