Alone Time

In 2002, award winning novelist Colin May purchased a home high in the Hollywood Hills. It was everything he dreamed of and even came with a 1960's bomb shelter in the garden, which he planned to turn into a private wine vault. Things didn't go as planned.

Working on his latest book, loosely based on the disappearance of his famous artist father, Colin, who battles depression and anxiety, becomes incapable of separating fact from fiction and within weeks of moving into the new home he begins to hear voices, see images, often waking up to a distant deep calling from somewhere on the property. He reaches out for understanding from the two most important people in his life; his nephew Cody, who has lived with him from age twelve and the suicide of his sister, and his long time friend, Celeste Sawyer who is also his agent of over twenty years. Even though Cody and Celeste are at odds with each other, they understand the need to work together to pull Colin out of of his downward spiral.

Meanwhile, Colin's novel, a true masterpiece, grows in its intensity while his imagination and terror wreck havoc with his grasp on reality. All those around him, Cody, Celeste, even his ex-husband, Jackson try desperately to pull Colin back to the surface, back to reality but the calling, the voices from the bomb shelter, particularly one terrifying, whispering ghost beacon him from below the earth in the garden.

As Colin faces his inner demons, voice and people from his tortured childhood, he finishes the final chapter of his masterpiece with a climactic and terrifying meeting of an old acquaintance in the shelter. He descends into a world of ghosts, ancient stories of the cold war, newsreel footage on a perpetual look and there, in the corner.... his most hated enemy is waiting for him.
