- Producer: Brad Falchuk; Nina Jacobson
CGiii Comment
So much has already been written and filmed about Andrew Cunanan, it's difficult to see what Ryan Murphy & Co. can bring to the table.
After watching the first episode, it's pretty damn obvious what Mr Murphy has brought...money. This is a production dripping with money. Penélope Cruz doesn't come cheap! Neither do the clothes nor those sets!
A lavish life befits a lavish production...but, will it keep its audience? Time will tell!
The Versace clan ain't too pleased with it...so, perhaps, there will be revelations aplenty! There were quite a few in the first episode.
We'll keep a-watchin'!
Well...episode 2 went darker than expected...
Darren Criss' Andrew Cunanan is savagely psycho...those pink trunks!!!
Not to ruin anything...but, it's becoming screamingly obvious why Donatella has objected so much...there's a touch of the green-eyed monster in Ms Cruz's portrayal and it's blisteringly good.
Rapidly becoming addictive!
As for the rest...well, Mr Criss keeps the momentum in top gear...and, at times, after his story emerges...there is a pang of sympathy for him. He was a deeply troubled and damaged young man.
Twisting the emotional stakes is never easy to do...Ryan Murphy pulls it out of the bag, keeping Cunanan's humanity in the forefront, showing his savagery and his vulnerability.
But...it is Dareen Criss who excels...he is utterly hypnotic to watch. You can't take your eyes off him!
