BY DESIGN is about a happily married couple who want to have kids when the unexpected happens. Lena and Sonali have been married for nine years. They’ve been talking about how to have kids for a long time. They’ve finally decided on whose body, whose egg, and they’ve just selected a donor who is every Asian parents’ dream. As they plan on making a big announcement at a family gathering, one of them changes her mind.
