Growing up within the bounds of religious teachings and traditional values, Adam finds himself suppressing the secret of his sexuality for most of his life, only confiding within his best friend and 'beard' Amara. When given the opportunity to attend a party that boasts an opportunity for everyone to be unashamedly themselves without judgement and with the promise that everyone will pretend it never happened, Adam finds himself falling for a blonde-haired boy, Elijah, that he is not allowed to know anything about. Amara makes the decision that she will be soon breaking their façade and coming out to her own family, leaving Adam with an internal battle of whether not he will go to the lengths of finding his midnight man.
