Fellini's Casanova

Country: Italy, Language: Italian, 155 mins

Original Title

Il Casanova di Federico Fellini
  • Director: Federico Fellini
  • Writer: Giacomo Casanova; Federico Fellini
  • Producer: Alberto Grimaldi

CGiii Comment

155 minutes of opulent indulgence...with no merit whatsoever.

It has all the usual pitfalls of Italian cinema...the dubbing - we all know that Donald Sutherland is not Italian...and, his Casanova has got to be the ugliest of all the Casanovas ever depicted on screen.

It's difficult to take any of it seriously...if it is a comedy, it is sadly lacking in any humour.
