CGiii Comment

Corey Feldman is an executive producer of this here film. Corey Haim is dead.

These 'child stars' were rewarded with failure...from those around them, from those that were meant to care for them, from Hollywood...and, from this film.

As shocking as their story is, A Tale of Two Coreys is a stinker of a film. With 8 credited writers, the worst wigs in cinematic history and a Michael Jackson impersonator playing Michael Jackson...this warts-and-all exposé is a drug-fuelled, drug-infused, flippant travesty of precocity.

The problem [apart from the wigs] is/are...the 2 Coreys themselves...here, they are portrayed as pretty horrible kids...with [absolutely] no boundaries. They did what they wanted whenever they wanted when they wanted...usually always involving a drug cocktail. Where were their parents?!? They were kids!!!

They had [abusive] chaperones. But...where were their parents? These kids were allowed to run riot...still, despite all the trappings of fame and fortune, they were neglected. Usually kids are neglected through issues surrounding poverty...neglect with money is a whole new kettle of fish. Another kettle of fish, issues surrounding consent...there is a scene where Corey Haim consensually has sex with a much older male chaperone...it's not really an issue...because, kids do not have consent. It is statutory rape. These kettles [way] too big for the creative department...

With 8 writers and a direct-by-numbers director, A Tale of Two Coreys comes over as a tabloid kiss-and-tell...it fails to go more than a millimetre below the surface...of the problem...of Hollywood...and, of the whole star-making/breaking machine!

Let's face it...most child stars end up in a no-good place. Corey Haim died at 38. Corey Feldman became an executive producer...of this tripe.

In wake of the sexual scandal that has engulfed Hollywood...surely, a better and more responsible film could have been produced...thereby, ensuring that this kind of neglect can be nipped in-the-bud and acted upon.

There will always be 'child stars' and, just like every other kid, they need to be protected, given boundaries and have someone to be held accountable!

The(ir) Blurb...

Feldman (Elijah Marcano and Scott Bosely) and Haim (Justin Ellings and Casey Leach) skyrocketed to fame after meeting on the set of the blockbuster movie The Lost Boys and quickly became young Hollywood heartthrobs. They collaborated on popular comedies including License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream and basked in being Tinseltown royalty in their early teens. But as their stars rose, their lives began to quickly spin out of control with endless partying and drugs. As their fame and fortune increased, dark secrets haunted them. Young and impressionable, the actors suffered through years of sexual abuse at the hands of industry insiders. With studio offers drying up and their reputations becoming tabloid fodder, Feldman eventually turned his life around by getting sober, getting married and having a son. Haim, however, continued his downward spiral and by the time the two starred in their own reality series, The Two Coreys, not even Feldman was able to save him.
