CGiii Comment

The problem is...the aliens are 400 years away! It's gonna be a very long series indeed! Doubtful though, cancellation looms!

With potholes bigger than their black counterparts, 3 Body Problem creaks and strains with some atrocious dialogue, wooden acting...and, as an exercise in diversity box-ticking, it becomes a woked-up mess. There's a gay lad who appears in two brief scenes...thank goodness for that. Any more screen time and you would be spitting at the screen, a pretty boy with a foul attitude.

The show's creators - Game of Thrones - have not bitten off more than they can chew...unlike GoT, where they just went to town and painted it like crazy...this, their latest endeavour, is more like a quick trip to the corner shop for a loaf of bread! Ouch!

As far-fetched as it is, it's watchable escapism...if elite, politically correct, pseud-intellectualism is your thing...and, if you think that buying a star for £19.5 million is clever...then, this really is for you!

The(ir) Blurb...

Set against the backdrop of China's Cultural Revolution, a secret military project sends signals into space to establish contact with aliens. An alien civilization on the brink of destruction captures the signal and plans to invade Earth. Meanwhile, on Earth, different camps start forming, planning to either welcome the superior beings and help them take over a world seen as corrupt, or to fight against the invasion. The result is a science fiction masterpiece of enormous scope and vision.
