CGiii Comment

An utterly impressive debut...to say the least.

Eastern Europe delivers a beautiful, tender tragedy that will rip at your heartstrings while swaddling you with warmth.

Rural Hungary, rural anywhere - floundering in tradition, pious with contempt...a young man stumbles...on a desire, on a need...so alien to him, his village, his mother - it terrifies not only him but them...no matter what they say or do, nothing can stop him in this idyll land of storms, pastures and passions.

The cinematography has to be mentioned - an outstanding, artful achievement, considering the monetary constraints...by Marcell Rév.

But...the stars of the show are the two leads, they don't say much - they don't need to - it's all there, in a look. They define on-screen chemistry.

Ádám Császi delivers a perfect debut...many could learn from his broiling reticence. Less is definitely more.
