Lucky is a girl caught between two worlds. At home, with her best friend Rose, she can embrace her blackness, but must hide her sexuality. At school, with her girlfriend Morgan, she can be openly gay, but has to change her behavior to fit in with her classmates. When Lucky needs money to buy Prom tickets for her and Morgan, she discovers how much her best friend cares for her. She also finds out just how dangerous it can be to be gay in Inglewood.
