CGiii Comment

Glee for adults...with Steven Spielberg as Executive Producer, an abundance of money has been thrown at this...and, in the most part, it sticks.

A Marilyn Monroe musical, mightily ambitious...considering the original musical was a resounding, forgotten flop...and, every biopic ever made about this icon has been an outright embarrassment - with one obvious exception...My Week with Marilyn...

Houston is majestic, Thurman is fun and the two competing Marilyns are talent on legs...

Without doubt, a must-see for all musical theatre aspirants, addicts and aficionados.

Season 2...

Get rid of the petulant prick-ish characters - Jimmy and his puny sidekick - and, perhaps, something can be salvaged from the impending train wreck...oh, and all the gaiety in Season 1 has practically disappeared - it's musical theatre for God's sake!!!

No surprises: cancelled...due to a derailment in the writing department.

The(ir) Blurb...

The road to and success on Broadway of the musical is not easy. And winning the coveted Tony as Best Musical is even more difficult, that which is the ultimate goal. Such trials and tribulations are shown for a handful of shows, their creative teams and their performers. There is competition amongst the performers for roles, competition amongst the shows not only for box office but also limited investor dollars and that final Tony prize, and competition amongst those ultimately hired in the cast and crew for what they want to see happen in the show, both for the good of the show and their own personal benefit. And sometimes, personal life gets in the way of these professional goals.
